As well as work-place assessments, mediation and support - please see our Consultancy and Assessment pages for more information on these services- we also provide training for employers who work with individuals with Asperger syndrome, autism, dyslexia and ADHD.
When an employee is identified as being affected by Asperger syndrome, autism, dyslexia or ADHD, it is a requirement of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) that they receive reasonable adjustments to enable them to perform their work duties to the best of their abilities.
Often, disclosing and sharing information about the condition through awareness training to colleagues and other staff members can increase understanding and reduce the stress of the individual, thereby enabling them to work more effectively.
Awareness training can be very effective in building relationships and understanding between individuals with disabilities and their colleagues and is a good way to strengthen teams and demonstrate equality and diversity in the workplace.
The disclosure of a disability to colleagues is a senstive issue and must be carried out with the full permission of the individual with the disability. We have extensive experience of this type of work and the issues involved and work with you to share this information in the most appropriate way.
Please contact us to discuss how we can support you in supporting your staff with disabilities and their colleagues.
