Training for Criminal Justice Professionals

A number of individuals with Asperger syndrome, autism, ADHD and dyslexia come into contact with the criminal justice system as offenders, victims or witnesses. The Autism Bill recommends specialist training for all criminal justice professionals, which we can provide.

These conditions can make it difficult for a person to communicate and comprehend the criminal justice system. The whole process can be confusing and stressful. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires reasonable adjustments to be made in all aspects of the criminal justice process. For those who have offended, an understanding of the condition can often explain why the offence took place, as it can be as a result of the cognitive understanding of the person.

We deliver training and conference presentations to all criminal justice professionals, including solicitors, lawyers, police, Victim Support, probation officers and prison staff.

We also provide independent reports on Asperger syndrome, dyslexia and ADHD for criminal justice purposes.
