Elaine is a qualified teacher and mental health practitioner who has worked in the field for the last 25 years
Elaine has over 30 years experience managing and delivering mental health services in Manchester, London and Brighton. Her recent roles have been as Training Manager for Coastal West Sussex Mind and Recovery College Manager at Southdown Housing.
Elaine also provides teaching, training and consultancy services to voluntary, public and private sector organisations. Recent clients include YMCA, Brighton and Hove Council, Shelter and Citizens Advice Bureau.
Elaine can offer a range of bespoke accredited and stand alone programmes on wellbeing in the workplace, mental health awareness, personality disorder, self harm and eating disorders. She is also an approved Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor.
Elaine has lived with mental health issues for some time. She uses her personal testimony to inform attendees about the challenges and insights into life with mental health. It is this unique blend of theory and experience that attendees find meaningful and inspiring.
Elaine is passionate about mental health and is actively involved in reducing stigma and eliminating discrimination. In her spare time Elaine maintains a regular yoga practice and sings in a female acapella choir in Brighton.
