Dyslexia Awareness Training - supporting children and adults

A one day course on dyslexia for professionals and parents providing an introduction to the condition for those who have little knowledge and a chance to learn more for those already supporting people with dyslexia.

The training is delivered by Claire Salter, specialist dyslexia practitioner, former Numeracy, Literacy and Dyslexia Support Manager of a large Further Education college.

The training involves many activities to support the information presented and allow delegates to develop their understanding of a complex and much misunderstood Syndrome and the day will include:

• An in-depth look at dyslexia with a summary of the different definitions, theories   and research findings.
• Causes, characteristics and typical difficulties and their impact on language,   learning and other areas.
• Tools and strategies for working with, and supporting, those affected by   dyslexia.

Suitable for parents, carers, teachers, LSAs and other professionals who will come away with a deeper understanding of those with dyslexia and more confidence in providing effective support. The day will provide information and ideas relevant to those working with either children or adults.

Cost:
£165.00 for professionals.
£85.00 for parents/carers of, or those with, dyslexia.
