Adult Asperger Assessments

'Thank you very much indeed for your time yesterday and the fantastic report. We are in awe of you for being able to put together such a good report in such a short time. T*** is very pleased indeed that he was able to see you yesterday. He was surprised how at ease he felt and I am sure that the positive experience of feeling that he was listened to so well and that his issues were reflected so accurately in your report helped him to feel validated. He felt as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.' – Parent of AS adult following AS assessment.

If you suspect that you have Asperger syndrome, getting correctly diagnosed can be very expensive and/or take up to 2 years through the NHS. Hendrickx Associates provide Adult Asperger assessments which follow the same process as a formal diagnosis, including a comprehensive report of the assessment process and outcome. We have a 100% validity rate - those who have sought a clinical diagnosis following a positive outcome from one of our assessments have always received the diagnosis, even when they had been initially refused a referral by their GP (which is how they ended up coming to us in the first place).

Feedback about our assessment process and reports from senior psychiatrists confirm that the standard and complexity is comparable to a medical diagnosis. Leading experts in the field of Asperger syndrome accept an assessment by Sarah Hendrickx as a valid basis for confirmation of a diagnosis without them feeling the need to repeat the process and having one of these assessments has been known to speed the process of an 'official' diagnosis, by 1 year or more.

Women with Asperger syndrome It is commonly acknowledged that identifying Asperger syndrome in adult women can be difficult due to their ability to mask the behaviours commonly associated with the condition. Sarah has considerable experience of working with and assessing women for Asperger syndrome and knows how to 'find' the Asperger syndrome, if it is there, but hidden. She has spoken at a NAS conference on Women and Autism (see Homepage for video).

Important Information: As Asperger syndrome is a medical condition, only diagnosable by a clinical practitioner, these assessments cannot be claimed to be a 'diagnosis'. Any non-medical practitioner claiming otherwise is incorrect. The assessment and report may be useful in providing evidence in seeking further diagnosis, or may be enough in its own right to confirm the suspicions of the individual.

Sarah Hendrickx has worked with in excess of 100 people with Asperger syndrome on a 1:1 basis (which Tony Attwood recommends as being a minimum requirement of anyone providing diagnostic assessments) and met many more and so, despite not having the clinical qualifications currently deemed necessary to provide a clinical diagnosis, does have an excellent knowledge and understanding of Asperger syndrome and its presentation and impact upon adults.

Assessments take place in Hove, East Sussex, or at any location on agreement of additional costs.

Assessment cost, including full comprehensive report of the findings: £350.00
